Melter honey is a by-product of purifying the beeswax. It is the last of the honey to get separated from the wax and in doing so has been subject to high heat. This heat turns the honey very dark and gives it a caramelized flavor. This product is not recommended as a substitute for regular, raw honey. However, it does have appealing uses in mead-making, brewing, and some baking.
